The third presidential debate was focused on security and foreign
policy. I thought the third
presidential debate was fairly even like the second.
Both candidates were alert, non-submissive and made their points
strong. However I have not been
impressed by either of them regarding the amount of preparation going into these
debates. Both of them mis-quoted
their opposition several times, and where fairly uneducated regarding the wars
in Iraq and Afghanistan. Not once
did either of them mention the actual factions we are fighting in Afghanistan
and where they come from and why that is such a big issue.
And associated with that is the threat in Pakistan.
Many people including myself have submitted questions, articles and
inquiry as to the security infrastructure in Pakistan and their nuclear
facilities. They are far to
centrally located to know terrorist cell locations and the Pakistani government
has taken no action. Over all I
was very disappointed with both candidates. The mediator Bob
Schieffer did do a better job controlling the tempo than in the past two
debate.
Over all I don’t think either party has done an effective job at
answering the focus of the American interest. Both Candidates dance around answers,
neither of them are clear on details, and they both condemn the other for doing
the same thing. Both of them need
to higher new campaign staff and take a few lessons in public debate and
differential absolution.
